Elephants are very clever animals, gifted with great memory, even after many years, they can remember paths and situations. Moreover, they have a deep sensitivity and need to express their feelings through touching,often using their long trunks. Since birth, little elephants are cared by their mothers whit whom they will have a close relationship for many years links between mums and calves are very strong ones. During their journeys the matriarch marks time, decides the pace suitable for everybody, this could be very slow for all, ifi there are calves in the group. If the mum dies all the other cow elephants are eager to look, lovely, after the little orphan.
Gli elefanti sono animali dalla straordinaria intelligenza e grande memoria spaziale, tanto che anche a distanza di anni ricordano percorsi e situazioni. Oltre all’intelligenza l’elefante possiede un’estrema sensibilita’ ed un bisogno intrinseco di esprimere il suo affetto con il contatto, che avviene principalmente attraverso la proboscide. Fin dalla nascita l’elefantino sara’ accudito dalla mamma, di cui seguira’ ogni passo per molti anni ancora, coadiuvata dalle altre elefantesse del branco. Durante gli spostamenti la matriarca del gruppo segna il passo, e stabilisce l’andatura adatta per ogni singolo membro, il passo sara’ per tutti molto lento quando ci sono elefanti baby. Il legame tra la mamma e il piccolo e’ fortissimo. Nel caso in cui una mamma dovesse morire, le altre elefantesse del gruppo se ne prenderebbero cura amorevolmente.
